We at Lovely strongly believe that Going Green is not just a fun short trip. It is a long journey which involves perseverance and holistic approach in both environmental and social endeavours.
Since our inception, we are keen in inculcating the culture of conservation & preservation of natural resources for future generation and hence several small steps are being taken to make our organization environmentally friendly.
Our green policy:
Generate less waste
Reuse the things to the optimum level
Recycle the ones that can’t be reused
Evaluate the environmental impacts of action and Eradicate them by Eco-friendly alternatives.
With an aim of limiting environmental damage, we at Lovely have taken serious measures towards sustainability several long years back, implemented them successfully by strictly adhering to the norms and strive to be more greener by constantly auditing each and every aspect of our operations from beginning to end, ensuring that we are producing very minimal amount of carbon waste.
By implementing state-of-the-art-technology, waste generation has been lowered to a great extent and we are on the verge of producing zero waste through implementation of TQM processes.
We predominantly buy paper in the right size to avoid trimming and reduced process waste through technology, training and constant monitoring. Besides at lovely there would be no air leakages and unnecessary usage of solvents and other hazardous chemicals apart from promoting safe disposal of our waste products through an effective waste treatment and management system.
Lovely consistently supports sustainability and continuously campaigns for the need of energy conservation and the use of renewable energy sources. We have slashed our energy usage by installing Solar Panels and Windmills.
We have about 2000KW of wind power and 100KW of solar power generators to generate green energy. Our entire plant has been equipped with LED lamps to minimize power consumption.
Our 30000 litres/day wastewater recycling system helps us to reuse the wastewater generated in the toilets to the optimum level. Trees(we have about 500 in our campus) and plants within the factory premises look fresh and green thanks to the water recycled from our toilets. We would be unable to feed water to the trees from our wells as our area is very dry and the water table is very low.
We work hard and put all efforts to replenish the Mother Earth. We want to give back more than we take from the planet, the outcome is our Miyawaki forest, an attempt to reduce the effect of green house gases.
We have created two Miyawaki forests with approximately 3,000 indigenous trees in our farms and another forest with 2000 trees is in process. The trees in this forest have grown exceptionally well and serves as a model for all those who are willing develop a forest on their own. We also provide free training and knowledge sharing to all those who are interested in this method.
Our extensive rainwater harvesting system is very helpful in maintaining the water table and groundwater level in this dry region. Every drop of rainwater falling on the ceiling of our factory buildings is collected and fed into the two wells within our campus. Lovely takes the pride of harvesting nearly 100 million litres of rainwater every year using this method. This has resulted in recharging the aquifers in our area and slowly we notice the improvement in water table.
Lovely is always looking forward to Green solutions for better world.
